Professional Driving Lessons, Safety Training & Instructor Services
These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between First Gear School of Motoring ("we", "us", "our") and the learner ("you", "student"). By booking or attending any driving lesson, you agree to be legally bound by these terms.
We operate independently and provide driving instruction through qualified instructors. Each instructor may operate as a self-employed professional.
All lessons must be booked in advance. Booking confirmation is subject to instructor availability. Lesson timings, locations, and durations are agreed between student and instructor.
We reserve the right to reschedule lessons due to weather, vehicle issues, instructor availability, or unforeseen circumstances.
You must provide at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Failure to do so will result in the full lesson fee being charged.
Repeated cancellations may result in suspension of future bookings.
Refunds are only applicable for unused prepaid lessons. Completed lessons, missed lessons, or late cancellations are strictly non-refundable.
Refund requests may take 7-14 working days to process.
All instructors are independent professionals responsible for delivering lessons safely and professionally. We ensure instructors are qualified but are not liable for their individual driving behaviour outside lesson obligations.
We are not responsible for indirect losses, delays, or cancellations caused by weather, traffic, instructor availability, DVSA changes, or other events beyond our control.
We are not liable for test failures or DVSA decisions.
We collect personal data only for booking, communication, safety, and legal compliance. Your data is stored securely and never sold to third parties.
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for abuse, harassment, or unsafe behaviour towards instructors. Such behaviour may result in immediate termination of lessons without refund.
We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be posted on our website and will automatically apply to future bookings.
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be handled under UK jurisdiction.
